A mother contacted me about her six week old baby girl. She had gone one week over term, had to be induced and went through a prolonged labour.

After the birth the mother reported that her baby girl spent hours every night crying until she was hoarse and drawing up her knees, in addition she took a long time to settle at nightime but during the day she seemed to be generally fine.

When an examination was performed on the baby girl the doctors found restrictions on her upper cervical and upper and mid thoracic. No other abnormalities were detected and her development has been normal.

After her first treatment with me at Zen Chiropractor the mother reported that her daughter settled better but was still upset for a time. After her second treatment the baby girl settled much more quickly and slept very well.

The mother has since reported that there has been no prolonged crying at all. Since then no further treatment necessary.

Carly specialises in Dermalogica Skin Care and offers a free Face Mapping Analysis to determine your problem zones and set a basis for home care recommendations. We also have a Skin Bar in the Waiting Area where you can try out the Dermalogica range before purchasing'.

At the Zen Clinic we take gum health and welfare very seriously, our resident Zen Hygienist Aaron Perugini focuses on improving and maintaining the health of your gums and the long term condition of your teeth.

Aaron has many repetitive areas of concern that he will make you aware of, he will thoroughly clean your teeths' surface and apply a preventative fluoride varnish. He will maintain Gingival health and also ensure your teeth are firmly secured in the mouth. ( Gingiva are part of the soft tissue lining of the mouth. They surround the teeth and provide a seal around them. )

A one off visit is not beneficial as to be effective, this treatament needs to be undertaken every 4-6 months, this will remove visible staining, reduce the level of plaque and tartar build up and this in turn will help with Halitosis ( bad breath ) and keep diseases like Gingivitis ( inflamation induced by bacterial biofilms ) at bay.

Aaron will also offer advice on how to clean your teeth more thoroughly and what products are best for your particular needs and concerns. The fluoride varnish which is applied to your teeth kills the bacteria which causes tooth decay. It also enables enamel to reform in a even harder condition in those areas where early decay has already started to form and it will also combat sensitive teeth issues.

Our Clinical Director Dr. Suryavansi maintains that 'prevention is better than cure' and that any dental treatment is more successful when a good gum condition is prevalent.

New Products at Zen Clinic

We are constantly introducing new products to the Zen Clinic and have recently started to stock OPI Manicure and Pedicure Products,
They are recognised as an industry standard leading professional care products for professional salons.

OPI Products focus on hand, foot and nail care and enable us to offer the very best treatments to our clients. They have a vast range of nail colours and treatments for your manicure and pedicure treatments.

In addition we now have a Skin Bar inhouse in the waiting area which allows clients to experience Dermalogica products and our expertise at first hand in an interactive and fun environment.

We also have a free Face Mapping Analysis which has been developed by The International Dermal Institute which takes skin analysis one step further.  

Rather than analysing the skin in a generic manner, the face is divided into 14 zones, each with its own particular area of concerns.

This inch by inch analysis is more exacting and sets the basis for treatment recommendations and home care advice.
