Case Study 8

Problem:
-
The existing composite veneers on the central incisors appear too thick and yellow.
-
The gum line above tghe central incisors is too low creating an abnormal appearance relative to the adjacent teeth.
- The bottom edges of the central and lateral incisors are not aligned and do not follow the natural curvature of the lower lip.
Solution:
- A diagnostic cosmetic waxup is fabricated to establish the proper gum position as well as the desired length, thickness and contour of the central and lateral incisors.
- The gum tissue on the central incisors is recontoured to establish a natural relationship with the adjacent teeth.
- Provisional veneers are placed to act as a prototype of the final veneers and to demonstrate the cosmetic result that will be achieved.
- Porcelain laminate veneers are placed on the central and lateral incisors. Appropriate gum contours are re-established and the natural tooth shape, length and colour provide a beautiful and long lasting smile.
